I am tokenising myself, this crowdfund is now live, and will stay open until the end of the month, or until the hard cap is hit.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember that in December, I uploaded a story flirting with the idea of tokenising myself. Walking from Deansgate Tram Stop in Manchester, I peddled the incentives I could think of to my small community and tried to gauge their appetite. The response was surprising. Many individuals were excited: whether that’ll be because they’d love to buy in, or they are curious to see the implication of such an experiment.

This article will introduce who I am, why I am doing this and outline my proposal for an Initial $ENIOLA Offering. It serves as an information sheet to the people within and outside my communities that are willing to become early back of myself at this stage of my life.

Who is Eniola?

Normie (2016 - 2020)

Although I was raised in the United Kingdom, I was born in Nigeria. As the son of migrants, my parents always communicated the importance of education to me. This wasn’t only for formal education but also encompassed my personal education. They drove home the necessity of cultivating and engaging with my curiosity; giving me the freedom to pursue my passions.

Thus, my entrepreneurial journey began. I founded a web agency in sixth form and worked on a range of client projects. Whilst studying at the University of Manchester, I also found a community group for minority ethnic techies which morphed into a diversity and inclusion consultancy called arkisites. We won a few awards (Venture Further and Kickstarter) and were selected to participate in some accelerators (AccelerateME and ASAP). We also worked with some of the biggest organisations and academic institutions in the United Kingdom to make the tech sector more diverse and accessible. This work was recognised in the form of nominations for personal awards such as the Black Heart Foundation scholarship, for which I was a recipient.

These experiences allowed me to meet some incredible people (builders), learn invaluable lessons, and cultivate my curiosity. One of these people was Alex, my following and engagement of his crypto journey, albeit from a distance, laid the first cobblestone in my road to being a degenerate.

Degenerate (2021 - Present)

Like most people in the United Kingdom, my first exposure to web3 was with crypto stable and altcoins. Since then, I have come to understand how web3 is changing the way people work, communicate, and relate to each other. NFTs are revolutionising ownership, DeFi is allowing finance to become more accessible and DAOs are driving community-led governance. Seeing the potential use cases excited me and I wanted to get involved. From onboarding my friends to web3 to building a product; I am doing what I can to help drive this new technological frontier.

I am currently doing three things in the web3 space right now:

  1. Learning, sharing and onboarding - I consume web3 related content by individuals like Cooper Turley, Rafa, Li Jin and more. As the web3 community in the United Kingdom is small I look to share my knowledge with people who are willing to listen.
  2. Contribute - I joined Mirror DAO as a contributor, to work with them on their pre-season initiatives. This will ultimately allow the DAO to better support the communities that they are developing on their platform. I recently joined ScribeDAO as a scribe and will begin contributing soon.
  3. Building - A music-focused web3 start-up. We have an effective team and are currently at the pre-seed stage. More information will be released, for token holders and to the public. Soon.

Introducing $ENIOLA

I have decided to use Mirror as the platform to fundraise for my token, $ENIOLA. Those that participate in the fundraising will be the first holders of $ENIOLA and can enjoy incentives that can be redeemed (more details follows).

Token Details

  1. Fixed Supply depending on how much is raised on Mirror (1000 tokens for every 1 ETH raised).
  2. I will hold 33% of the total token supply and provide some of it as liquidity against ETH on Uniswap V3. Although the point of this raise isn’t only to return a profit to my backers, providing liquidity will allow them to sell $ENIOLA OTC if they wish.
  3. I will take 15% of all salaried (and commissioned) income I make over the next 3 years and give back to token-holders, capped at $50,000, to be distributed proportionally, bi-annually, in a stable coin. This adds another way in which contributors can be rewarded for investing in the early stages of my life.
  4. I will share monthly updates with anyone that participates in this raise - this will be gated. My goals, achievements, successes, failures, and lessons will be shared as I navigate through this interesting period of my life. It is more than just a cold obligatory update for my backers but a way for me to become more intimate with them.
  5. Every token holder can participate in “control $ENIOLA” where you can vote on some of my life decisions. The more $ENIOLA you hold the more influence you’ll have. Additionally, all token holders will have access to my gated monthly updates.

I want to provide even more utility to backers of $ENIOLA, the “utility gained” will be proportionate to the number of $ENIOLA you hold. The breakdown is as follows:

Claiming Utility!

To ensure that people don’t gamify this raise, a snapshot will be taken of the holders at a date this year. I have already decided on the date and will announce the snapshot date in the future. After the snapshot, holders of the token will be able to claim their rewards. Ah heck, I may even throw in some more surprises when the snapshot is taken.

Looking to the Future

I am genuinely looking forward to this experiment. No matter how it goes I believe that I, my community and other onlookers will learn some valuable lessons. From setting up the infrastructure to support tokenisation, to how to build and give value to a community. I hope that this can be used as a positive use case for those looking to launch their personal token in the future.
